I can't remember a time when I didn't love books. As a little kid, I had countless favorite storybooks, and I always loved to formulate extended endings to each one after my parents reached the last page. In elementary school, I stuck by the preadolescent standards: The Magic Treehouse, The Chronicles of Narnia, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Lord of the Rings, and (of course) the Harry Potter series, which I devoured seven times in fourth grade alone. As I always say, once a Harry Potter fan, always a Harry Potter fan...
But I digress. One of my major reasons for starting this blog is to explore and interact with some of the amazing stories out there. I currently read anything from sport autobiographies and popular fiction to Mark Twain and Frankenstein, so I might as well warn you right now: prepare to see books from very far-flung corners of the literary universe mentioned on this blog. I love to read widely because each genre connects to others, even as it manages to possess its own unique character. It's truly fascinating to see how individual novels differ from and overlap with others.
My biggest reason for blogging is to express my insatiable love of literature. I dream of writing and publishing my own novels, and each book that I pick up further inspires me to make this dream come true. In short, books are the best, whether you intend to read them, study them, or draw inspiration from them.
I hope that you enjoy reading about my reading exploits as much as I enjoy writing about them. Until then...happy reading!

I should probably warn you: my long-held view is that any reading experience is improved by the presence of a cat.
